Terms of Service

These terms form a contract between you and Contractor Community Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (trading as "Contractor Community"). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
The platform is operated by Contractor Community Ltd. Contact: hello@contractorcommunity.co.uk.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a legally binding contract in the UK. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. Impersonation, fraud, and misrepresentation are prohibited.
3. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, including: unlawful activity, fraud, spam, infringing intellectual property, uploading malware, probing or interfering with security, scraping, or abusive/discriminatory conduct. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences.
4. Content licence
You retain rights to content you post but grant Contractor Community Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt (for formatting) and share it on the platform solely to provide the service.
5. Our intellectual property
Contractor Community Ltd retains ownership of the platform, software, branding and documentation. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in line with your plan. No reverse engineering, resale, or circumvention of technical limits.
6. Subscriptions, payments and refunds
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. UK VAT is charged where applicable. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and refunds by our Refund Policy. Consumers benefit from the 14-day statutory cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, subject to the exception for digital content supplied with your prior consent.
7. Suspension & termination
You can close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for: material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. On termination, your right to use the service ends; you may request an export of your data within 30 days, after which data may be deleted subject to legal retention.
8. Trade transactions
Contracts for goods or services between contractors, homeowners, manufacturers and wholesalers are directly between those parties. Contractor Community Ltd is not a party to those contracts and does not warrant workmanship, quality, or timeliness. Reviews and verification badges are informational only.
9. Warranties & availability
The platform is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. All implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for purpose) are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our aggregate liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages (loss of profits, data, or goodwill).
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify Contractor Community Ltd against third-party claims arising from your content, your use of the platform in breach of these terms, or your unlawful conduct.
12. AI features
AI Coach and quote assistance outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are for general guidance only and are not a substitute for professional judgement, regulated advice (legal, tax, engineering) or site-specific assessment. You are responsible for verifying outputs before relying on them.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts (without prejudice to statutory rights of consumers).
